E3 = Emotion, Empowerment, Excitement
The International Center for Talent
Development is committed to the idea that the development of people’s strengths, interests, and talents, will
assure the emergence of leaders who will be well equipped to tackle the
problems of tomorrow’s world within and across all disciplines.
To that end, we are dedicated to providing
resources and services to enable institutions to identify the strengths of
their community and coordinate efforts to form interdisciplinary talent groups
where each individual can contribute their expertise in solving problems
creatively and to developing new ideas.
For this to happen, we need to create environments
with both brain and heart appeal. This is especially true in schools and work
places today where individuals must
be groomed to be tomorrow’s leaders. Such engagement must involve emotion,
excitement, and empowerment if individuals are to fully develop and be energized
for learning and productivity. We call this philosophy E3 (E cubed).
We know that success depends on individuals becoming emotionally involved with the tasks at hand whether in the classroom or in the boardroom. Positive emotional connections with the topics and experiences are what energizes people. We know that neurologically, emotions regulate the on and off switch to learning and productivity. Brain research tells us that emotions mediate all learning and engagement. Emotions hold the key to whether individuals put forth effort, remember, and understand. Thus learning and productivity occur when people are excited about what they are learning and doing. Such excitement linked with memories of positive learning and success experiences and outcomes spark energy and motivation to stay in the struggle despite the obstacles and hard work. Experiencing such success leads to empowerment, a belief that one can learn and make a difference in the world. Thus to ensure success we need to create classrooms and work places with brain and heart appeal!
Our efforts are directed at helping institutions to identify and develop the interests, strengths, and talents of the members of their communities using a positive and engaging approach. For over 15 years, we have spoken at conferences, provided workshops to schools and businesses worldwide and have developed a variety of resources. From Abuja to Zimbabwe we have had the pleasure of working with thousands of educators and business leaders all focused on providing an optimum learning or work environment for the 21st Century.
